OVERVIEW
With dedicated Girls and Boys weekends, our Youth Development Weekend Camps are open to girls and boys ages 7 to 12 and take place on Miller School of Albemarle’s scenic 1,600-acre campus, which boasts over 15 miles of purpose-built trails. Riders will be able to develop their cycling skills in a fun, supportive environment with some of the area’s top mountain bikers.
For all beginner to lower-intermediate level cyclists between the ages of 7 and 12 out there, who love to ride their bikes and want to challenge themselves while learning new skills and having a blast with their peers, this is the camp for you! The Youth Development Boys Camp takes place on a weekend and is about as much fun as you can possible have on a bike. Days begin with basic skills work, such as shifting and braking, and progress to corning and navigating obstacles before applying all of those new-found techniques on singletrack trails. After two days of learning, laughing, and riding, the goal is that all campers ride with greater skills and confidence.
Parents are encouraged to stay and participate.
Food:
We ask that riders bring their own lunch. We provide plenty of fluids, ride food, and snacks.
